Data Roaming with Multi-SIM

1.      Can I roam with all the Multi-SIM Cards?

Our overseas partners are unable to commit if they are able to support Multi-SIM as this is dependent on their databases and equipment. It is recommended to turn on 1 device while roaming to ensure better surfing experience while roaming.

2.      What will happen if I turn on all devices with Multi-SIM Cards while roaming?

You might not be able to use data on some of your Multi-SIM Cards. This is subjected to foreign network restriction. However, you may use any of the devices to receive calls/SMS by triggering *141#. Please note that some countries may not support the USSD feature (*141#). In such case, you will need to manually insert the preferred SIM card into the device.

To use data roam while overseas, please ensure data roaming is enabled on My DataRoam Settings by activating My Singtel app > Roaming > Usage to enable data roaming before travel. In addition, please ensure that data roaming is also enabled on your device.

Enable/Disable data roaming can also be done via the following modes:

i.      Dial *100*3*1# to enable or *100*3*2# to disable > Reply 1 to confirm

ii.     Dial *7626 (in Singapore) or SMS *7626 to 3333 (while overseas) > Reply 4 (My DataRoam Settings) > Reply 2 (Enable/Disable Data Roaming) > Reply 1 (to enable) or 2 (to disable)

You need to first turn on the device inserted with card A when you are overseas. Then follow by the other device. Please note that it is recommended to use only 1 SIM card in each country.

4.      I have turned on all my Multi-SIM Cards, but only wish to use data on one of the cards. What should I do?

Please contact CSE for assistance.

5.      I have accidentally power on all Multi-SIM cards but wish to use data only on 1 card. Is there any alternative other than contacting CSE?

You can follow these steps:

iii.    Manually select the preferred roaming network in your remaining devices.

6.      When roaming, will all Multi-SIM Cards log on to the same network?

If the SIM Cards are set to “Auto Selection of Network”, it is possible that the different SIM Cards will log on to different operators/networks. To ensure that they log on to a single operator/network, set the Multi-SIM cards to “Manual Selection of Network” and select your desired network. However, please note that our overseas partners are unable to commit if they are able to support Multi-SIM as this is dependent on their databases and equipment. It is recommended to turn on 1 device while roaming to ensure better surfing experience while roaming.

7.      Could you advise me on the list of countries with the number of supported Multi-SIM Cards?

Newer devices may allow multiple data sessions. For example Blackberry can have 2 data sessions (1 for sending/receiving emails, while another for data/WAP surfing). However this feature is still subject to foreign network restriction. It is recommended to turn on only 1 device while roaming to ensure better surfing experience.

9.      Can I trigger any of the Multi-SIM Cards to receive calls/SMS while roaming?

Yes, you can dial *141# to change the preferred Multi-SIM card for receiving calls/SMS.
